Piggin' Out

Overall: 3 out of 5

Piggin' Out is a neighborhood shack that has been around for many years. The shack was recently taken over by new ownership that has added new menu options and outside seating.

Some good things:

  • Brisket is lean and delicious.
  • Value is good.
  • They use UberEats - just in case you're not in the mood to drive over.
  • The outdoor seating has transformed the look and is fun - they have corn hole :)

Some bad things:
  • Paleo options are limited to just the meat.  I usually get the meat to go and add it to something at home: salad, eggs, etc.
  • Sides, while recently expanded, are not Paleo friendly.  My husband really enjoys the green chili potatoes. They smell good, but I've never tried them ahaha.

Jim 'N Nick's

Overall: 4 out of 5

Jim 'N Nick's has consistently flavorful and juicy meat.   We've dined several times and I've always had the same thing.  Last night I tried something new and it hit the spot.

Some good things:

  • Two Paleo options
  • Portions are perfect.
  • Service is consistently good.
  • Unsweetened tea is surprisingly good.

Some bad things:
  • Value is not awesome; it's pricey.
  • Brisket is fatty.
  • Salads are mostly lettuce.
